Ingrid
To find out where Ingrid is, click here:
Ingrid is the Name of my Delorme In Reach Device.
- The
link above will allow you to track where Ingrid is. The link will
redirect you to Delorme Dot Com. I'll call this my Map Page or Ingrid's Map Page.
- Check
out the "Map Legend" on the top of the left hand window pane.
This will give you information on the type of message that I have sent.
Note that for 'Check In/OK" messages, the "Message Detail" for that
track point will be empty.
- Assuming I have Ingrid in
"Tracking Progress" mode and assuming the GPS is on, Ingrid will
update my location approximately every 10 minutes. Ingrid will place
track points on the map. Each track point has various information
associated with it. Click on the boot print to see the information
associated with each track point.
- "Track Progress"
messages are just that, messages that track my progress as I travel.
Click on the actual foot print on the map to see the details associated
with the particular "Track Progress" message point.
- Because of the inaccuracies of the GPS, there may be some 'drift' in my
position even though I may not have actually moved an inch.
- More information on the message types is found below.
Did you Receive a Text Message with "Ingrid" as the Subject?
Here Are Some Notes on My Text Message:
- If
you received a text message from me sent via my In Reach (aka
"Ingrid"), the subject of the text message will be "Ingrid".
- The first
2 numbers in the text message are the Latitude and Longitude. Google
Maps or Google Earth work best to show these coordinates on a map.
- Because of the inaccuracies of the GPS, there may be some 'drift' in my position even though I actually didn't move an inch.
- Typed text messages are only allowed to have 41 characters so that's why its so short. Predefined messages can be longer.
- You can respond to with a text message to Ingrid. But you have to respond to the text massage you received.
- And I realize that the text message may have directed you to this page.
Yes, I Received a Text Message or Email from You (aka Ingrid). Now What?

say hello or provide you with information.
- Click on the actual foot print on my Map Page to see the details associated with the particular "Check In/OK" message point.

message means I or someone in my party needs immediate help. I reserve
it for life threatening or other critical emergency situations. I
will only sent an Emergency text message if
(1) I am unavailable to help myself or if someone else in my party needs
immediate help; and (2) I am outside cell phone or radio coverage.

behalf, please also tell them that they may receive a call from GEOS IERCC as
well.
- This text message will contain a password (for my
"Drew's Travels" webpage) and a link to that page. That webpage will
